Master Duel has also confirmed the popular Duelist Cup competitive event is set to return in mid-December. Konami recently added the game's newest Selection Pack, "Battle Trajectory," introducing a variety of powerful cards for Pendulum Monsters alongside new archetypes. Yu-Gi-Oh! Master Duel's newest banlist update comes as the game has plenty on the horizon for the last month-and-a-half of 2022. "Magical Meltdown" is the sole card being removed from the banlist, acting as a major part of the "Invoked" deck.

"Anti-Spell Fragrance" joins them on the Semi-Limited list after previously being Unlimited, with the card exceptionally powerful against decks reliant on Spell cards. "Galatea, the Orcust Automation" and "Genex Ally Birdman" will both see their status moved from Limited to Semi-Limited, the former being a core piece of the popular "Orcust" strategy. The new banlist sees three cards moved to two copies per deck with one being removed from the Forbidden and Limited List entirely. The card has been a powerful option for the meta-relevant "Floowandereeze" deck, with players easily able to Summon the Monster and lock their opponents out of Special Summoning non-WIND Monsters. The newest change to the Forbidden and Limited List will only see one card fully removed from the game, with "Barrier Statue of the Stormwinds" receiving a ban.
